Answer to Trivia

The 1994 independent film Clerks introduced the world to Kevin Smith and he's been a relevant player in Hollywood ever since. In order to keep costs down, Smith opted to film Clerks in black and white and the lo-fi aesthetic has become a hallmark of this classic.

The budget of the film was just north of $27,000 which Smith financed by borrowing $3,000 from his parents and selling his vast comic book collection. It's a gamble that has certainly paid off for the filmmaker as he celebrates over 25 years of the View Askewniverse.

After a few films set outside of the Clerks universe, Smith returned to the well with this week's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. It is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
